HOW CAN I KNOW GOD PERSONALLY?
Firstly we must understand some basic truths…
God is holy. His moral standards are perfect. Ours however are flawed! We’ve broken Gods perfect moral laws (lying, blaspheming etc).
God is just. A good judge has to punish ALL crimes and God is a good and just judge. We therefore are guilty before Him
God is merciful. God loves you. He wants the best for you even more than you want it for yourself! He provided a way that you can be forgiven and enter into relationship with Him:
He sent Jesus to live a perfect life on earth. Jesus took the punishment due to us upon Himself on the cross, and on the third day He came back to life defeating death.
Our only requirement is to completely disregard our own works to get right with God, and put our trust in Jesus Christ, His perfect sinless life, His death on the cross and His resurrection.
“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”
